Backing Boards

To reduce waste, my prints are shipped without backing boards. If you need one, please indicate in the notes: A4 and A3 prints: Backing board available on request (no extra charge). A2 prints: Shipped rolled. Backing board can be arranged with extra postage charge; please mention it in your order notes.

  • Why Skip the Backing Board? If you intend to hang your print right away, you can opt-out of the backing board. This helps reduce waste, as the board might otherwise be discarded soon after receiving your print. By skipping the backing board, you contribute to more sustainable and less wasteful packaging practices.
  • Why Choose a Backing Board? Including an archival white backing board provides extra protection for your fine art print, especially if you do not plan to frame it immediately. These eco-friendly boards are FSC certified and 100% recyclable, ensuring your print remains flat and undamaged during storage.
Product Materials

This fine art print is crafted on 310gsm Hahnemuhle German Etching alpha-cellulose genuine mould-made paper, renowned for its superior quality and durability. The paper features a slightly textured surface, providing a lushly artistic finish that enhances the vibrancy of the artwork. This white art paper is made from 100% alpha-cellulose, ensuring it is both acid- and lignin-free, which meets the most exacting requirements for age resistance, conforming to ISO 9706 standards for museum-quality longevity. Printed using UltraChrome Pro10 archival pigment inks, this artwork ensures exceptional color accuracy and longevity, making it a true archival piece. Each print is produced in Dr. Lindsay Marshall's studio.

Product Care
  • To ensure the longevity and preservation of your fine art print, follow these care guidelines: Handling: Always handle your print with clean, dry hands to avoid transferring oils and dirt. It’s best to use cotton gloves if possible. Framing: Frame your print using archival-quality materials. UV-protective glass or acrylic will help shield it from harmful light exposure. Acid-free matting and backing will prevent deterioration over time. Display: Hang your print in a location away from direct sunlight, high humidity, and temperature fluctuations. Ideal conditions are moderate light and stable, room-temperature environments. Cleaning: Dust your print and frame regularly with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid using any cleaning agents or sprays directly on the print or the frame’s glass. Storage: If storing your print, keep it in a cool, dry place. Use acid-free tissue paper and flat, sturdy storage to prevent any creasing or bending. Avoid storing in basements, attics, or places prone to moisture and temperature changes. By following these guidelines, you can maintain the beauty and integrity of your fine art print for years to come.
Packaging and Finishing

Each fine art print is meticulously packaged to ensure it arrives in pristine condition. The print is placed in a crystal-clear archival bag, designed to protect and preserve its quality. For those not planning to frame their print immediately, an optional archival white backing board is available. These boards provide additional protection and are FSC certified, 100% recyclable, making them an eco-friendly choice. However, if you intend to hang your print straight away, the backing board is omitted to reduce waste. The print is signed by Dr. Lindsay Marshall, the artist, and embossed with her logo, adding a personal touch of authenticity. To complete the presentation, the print is wrapped in custom tissue paper and securely posted in a rigid mailer, ensuring it remains flat and undamaged during transit.

While the Common Coral Trout, Plectropomus leopardus, may lack the rainbow hues of its reef-dwelling cousins, this illustration by world renown fish artist Dr. Lindsay Marshall captures the understated beauty of this formidable fighter. With scales the colour of sunset and fins like gossamer wings, the coral trout cuts a dashing figure through azure waters. Yet beneath that graceful exterior beats the heart of a hunter, prowling the seabed for crustaceans and small fish to satisfy its voracious appetite. At once minimalist and richly detailed, this piece is destined to be the focal point of your beach house or coastal escape.
